Landscape Technician

Sirocco Landscapes is an upscale, boutique landscape company serving Kamloops British Columbia. We design and install landscapes for our discerning clientele. We are seeking one exceptional individual that would like to be a part of our dynamic team.

Your Daily Duties

• Review and interpret landscape designs regularly to facilitate efficient installation of landscape projects while maintaining high standards of quality and meeting production targets/deadlines
• Keep daily text/photo documentation of progress/resources using mobile applications
• Operate various tools in a safe manner including chainsaws, jackhammers, compactors, laser levels, masonry saws etc.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site, truck and trailer
• Adhere to safe work practices and procedures set out by Sirocco Landscapes Ltd and WorkSafe BC
• Taking pictures of your stellar work to share with friends and family!

Skills You Will Need

• Past experience operating skid steers, excavators, masonry saws, compaction equipment, laser levels, and other power/hand tools
• Have 3-years experience installing landscape hardscapes, and/or, experience installing landscape softscapes – Preference will be given to those holding Horticultural, ICPI, AB, BCLNA certificates
• Organized, effective time manager, excellent communicator, punctual and reliable
• Enjoy collaborative working conditions while being happy working independently 
• A strong work ethic with a keen eye for detail
• Have a valid class 5 driver’s license and able to tow a trailer (code 20 endorsement an asset)
• A good sense of humour!

Your Working Environment

• Personal protective equipment including appropriate construction grade boots (steel toe), gloves, hardhats, goggles, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, pants, uniform shirt, and shorts are required, where applicable
• Activities include extended periods of standing and walking around construction sites and working with concrete saws, hand tools, wheelbarrows and shovels.
• Heavy lifting is expected (50+LBS)
• Good manual dexterity for the use of common construction equipment
